Meet Kennedy Venable

Kennedy is an 11 year old, 5th grade dancer who lives in Elgin and is a straight "A" Student at Lincoln Elementary School.

Kennedy began her dance training at age 3 at the Centre of Elgin studio. She trains 13 ½ hours a week in Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Tap, Lyrical and Pointe. Her hobbies include: piano and bike riding.

Kennedy has been competing as a soloist for 3 years. This year she danced in a lyrical routine to "Ordinary Miracle" by Sara McLachlan. She won the DanceMakers Miss Pre-Teen Chicago regional title. She will be competing for the title at the National level in Myrtle Beach in June.

She also competes an acrobatic duet with her little sister, Olivia. It has done very well at all of the competitions this year, especially at DanceMakers where it took Top Duet/Trio Overall. Kennedy competes with the Intermediate Tap and Jazz Team at Dixon Dance Academy, as well.

Her dreams for the future include pursuing her passion by dancing professionally and to become a doctor.
