Darci Whalen

Instructor

Darci began her training at Dixon Dance Academy, competing and dancing in recitals. She turned her focus to Pointe and trained at Avnun Yakabov Professional Ballet. She worked her way up to soloist in such Ballets as “Bambi” and “Giselle”.

Darci graduated from Illinois State University with a minor in dance. She was an Illinois State Dance Company Theatre member for 4 years. She performed in seasonal concerts and in the American College Dance Festival Association. At Illinois State University, Darci studied Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary and Modern. She was honored to train with the Martha Graham Company.

Darci is excited to help our dancers apply for college dance programs and prepare them for success in college. She hopes to use her current Pilates training to teach our students how to achieve strength and flexibility while lengthening and defining muscle. She hopes to earn her Pilates training certificate soon and plans to bring Pilates mat classes to our studio.

Darci has a great passion and infectious enthusiasm to share with our dancers!
